Captain, thanks for sharing this. You have captured well some of what makes my senior years, along with grandkids, a thoroughly enjoyable and meaningful phase of life.
Bryan, thank you for the post on this subject. I've been thinking about the evolution of my relationships with male family members/friends recently, as we've all aged, particularly with my Dad. As always you bring an interesting and thoughtful perspective. Thank you!
So, it abruptly switches from an objective reminiscence and recognition of classmates and alumni maturing gracefully to a Trump bashing diatribe? I would have thought better of your lapse into junior high school cheap shots. Why not recognize leaders for accomplishments, and not for mean tweets and hugely successful rallies?
I think I counted 13 paragraphs in that part of the essay. One on Trump. Hardly a diatribe. Also, you must be new here, as my anti-Trump writing makes up a significant part of the work I've done on this substack. I heartily encourage you to read from the various intellects at American Greatness if that is what you're looking for. In any case, you get what you pay for.

Thank you, Sir!

Trumpkins can be very sensitive, can't they?
Your reply just as I expected. Fact free and empty.

Brilliantly written as always, my friend.
