Your "out and about" posts are excellent, feeding my vicarious travel yearnings. Having lived aboard a sailboat and sailed in the Pacific, I totally understand the morning bliss of a quiet anchorage and a hot cuppa with half & half.
Reminds of a sailboat cruse from Hope Town on Grand Abaco back in the day. I checked Google Maps to see photos of Stocking. I also tried to view the spots visited from Hope Town. No luck as everything has changed in 30 years.
Everyday shaving applies to CONUS only? I think not, sir! While in Submarine School at the ripe old age of 19, during our bicentennial year, I decided that if facial is good enough for Uncle Same then it is good enough for me. And since that time no one has seen this ugly mug. Perhaps, the Mortician will shave me clean, so people might think they are at the wrong funeral!
Enjoy your stay and your trip they both sound quite awesome! Wishing and Catherine Fair Winds and Following Seas!
No knowing that BS is the country code for The Bahamas, I started reading this missive with a different expectation. I was glad to see that no spleen was vented!
I so enjoyed reading about your stay on the house boat off of Stocking Island. Chat and Chill is one of our favorite places to go. Be sure to get the conch salad.
Likely too late for this trip, but you may want to look into eSIMs for your OCONUS cellular and data needs. I used the Airalo offering on a 10 day trip to Italy and it worked flawlessly and much cheaper than the AT&T international daily charge. There are good videos on YouTube showing how to set up and use the eSIMs. Safe travels.
A pleasant morning read of your pleasant morning moored. You seem to be transitioning very well to your next gig, our very own mid-Atlantic, E.B. White? You write well. Thanks for it, and keep it up! Wahoo-wa.
Donal here, former member of VF111 aboard Coral Sea 1971-72. Fast forward to 1999 and your corespondent, not having enough sea time, set sail for what was to become a five-year odyssey from San Francisco to New Zealand and back. The experience of hanging at anchor in a lovely harbor will always call you on to the next . . .
Wishing you a very pleasant and safe sail back to the Chesapeake. Cheers.

Fun to read. Envoius of the setting...
Ever get to AUTEC to test sonar?
You are close to Tongue of the ocean.
Several times!

There really seems to be only one thing to say - "ENJOY!"

No self-respecting SWO leaves home without a comprehensive coffee plan in hand.
Indeed
